Technology used and lost or extinct.

Technology I see great but lost soo or extinct.

1. Window XP - Looked great OS. I love its look and feel. Vista makes me uncomfortable :-(.  Microsoft stopped its support as of April 2009.

2. Visual Studio Source safe. - The tool which helped thousands and thousands of programers to work together as a team. (or find the person reason for the bug :-) ) MS Stopped its support too in April 2011.

3. Java Applet - One of the powerful tools which sun offered well in the early days of internet portability and virus free net applications where a biggest problem. (Still surviving even in the world of Adobe Flex)(JAVA - Future of Opensource JAVA !!!! no idea..)

4. Floppy Disk - It was in my school or early days of my UG, I used to take program copies in this (god given thing) disk. But it wont help you to carry your PPT with large photos. (No new system has Floppy drives).
 
5. Writable CD - In my PG. It helped me to move the project works, ebooks and many now it is fading away in the world of 3G and (portable with OS) Hard drives.
